News: 1 dead, 1 injured in accident on Hwy. 21

CHESTER COUNTY, SC – One person was killed in a head-on crash in Chester County on Wednesday, The Herald reports.

The collision happened around 5:30pm Wednesday, October 27 on Highway 21 near McFadden Road.

A sedan collided head-on with a dump truck, leaving the driver of the sedan dead and the driver of the dump truck injured.

The driver of the dum truck was taken to Medical University of South Carolina – Lancaster with injuries of unknown severity.

The driver of the sedan was identified as Darrell Linn Pigg, a 48-year-old firefighter from Lancaster, SC.

The accident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
