YORK COUNTY, SC – One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash on I-77 in York County on Friday, WBTV reports.
The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-77 near mile marker 89 around 4pm on Friday, January 14.
According to officials, all four vehicles were traveling south when one stopped and was rear-ended by a box truck, causing it to crash into two other vehicles.
The driver of the car that was rear-ended died from their injuries. It is unknown if anybody in the other vehicles was injured.
The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
