FLORENCE, SC – According to WBTW, authorities arrested a man Friday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run near Church Street and June Lane on Sept. 17.

Kentrey Levar White-Long was in a single-vehicle crash around 2:50 a.m. White-Long exited the vehicle and was allegedly struck by a car driven by Devin Rashad Burgess. Burgess’s vehicle dragged White-Long to Ingram St and Lawson St.

Authorities believe Quandelin Washington, Zae’Kwon Lataveon Washington, and Devin Rashad Burgess conspired to lie to the police. They paid Zae’Kwon Lataveon Washington to take the blame for the hit-and-run.

Authorities charged Zae’Kwon Lataveon Washington with hit-and-run resulting in death. Police dropped that charge and instead charged him with accessory of the fact to a class B felony and criminal conspiracy.

The police arrested Burgess Friday on charges including Hit-and-run resulting in death, failure to render aid, criminal conspiracy, driving under suspension for DUI, Accessory after the fact to a class B felony, Possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
