ISLE OF PALMS, SC – A woman is suing Wild Dunes Resort for damages after being allegedly hit in the face by a beach umbrella in June of 2021.

According to Count on 2, the victim, Berenice Kelly, was sitting in a beach chair when the umbrella struck Kelly and injured her face and nose. Kelly claims she required extensive surgery to repair the damage.

Following the accident, Kelly’s husband, Theodore Kelly, provided first aid and called 911.

Kelly filed the lawsuit against Wild Dunes Resort on July 5. They claim that the resort did not correctly install the umbrella or monitor weather conditions.
