HORRY COUNTY, SC – One young child was killed and six others were injured in a crash on Highway 90, WMBF reports.

The incident occurred on Highway 90 near Lee Street at around 1pm Sunday, November 14.

According to police, the car containing the child crossed the median and collided with another vehicle traveling in the other direction.

Both lanes of the road were blocked until the accident was cleared.

The Horry County Fire Rescue stated that a total of seven people were taken to the hospital after the crash.

Six people were taken with injuries of unknown severity. A one-year-old child died from their injuries at the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
