LEXINGTON, SC – A suspected DUI driver was arrested for allegedly attacking an off-duty paramedic after causing a multi-car crash on Sunset Blvd near Hope Ferry Rd Saturday.

According to WLTX, a driver left the outbound lanes of Sunset Blvd and strayed into oncoming traffic, where he collided with multiple vehicles around 6 p.m.

The driver who allegedly caused the accident then attacked an off-duty paramedic who attempted to render aid.

EMS crews transported the driver and several others who were injured in the accident to an area hospital.

Police have charged the driver who they believe caused the incident with DUI and assault and battery.
