WADMALAW ISLAND, SC – According to WCSC, a driver fatally collided with a tree on the 4700 block of Maybank Hwy after having a medical episode Sunday.
A Toyota SUV driver strayed off the road and struck the tree around 8:30 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene of the accident and transported a passenger to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Services Unit.
