LIBERTY, SC – A woman and her great-grandson were killed in a crash on Calhoun Memorial Highway Thursday evening, The State reports.

The accident happened on Calhoun Memorial Highway near Cartee Road around 6:45pm Thursday, November 4.

According to police, a drunk driver in a pickup truck rear-ended the woman’s sedan and caused it to leave the roadway and overturn multiple times, throwing the woman and her great-grandson from the vehicle.

The victims were identified as 70-year-old Gladys Holbrooks and her 6-year-old great-grandson.

Holbrooks had three other passengers with her at the time of the crash, who, along with the driver of the truck, were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
