MYRTLE BEACH, SC – According to WMBF, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian near Hwy 17 and 21st Ave N Sunday.

A driver hit Elon University student Jackson Yelle, 21, as Yelle was attempting to cross the street around 1:30 a.m.

First responders pronounced Yelle dead at the scene around 7:25 a.m.

Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the collision to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
