MYRTLE BEACH, SC – On February 9, a man pleaded guilty to reckless homicide by operation of a boat in connection to a deadly crash near Watergate Dr on April 11, 2021.
According to WPDE, John Kody Austin Ray, 28, was operating a 20-foot Tracker Tahoe boat on the Intracoastal Waterway when he crashed into a dock on Watergate Dr, fatally injuring Corey Parag, 28.
Authorities determined Ray had a BAC of 0.14 at the time of the collision, well over the limit of 0.08. Ray has been sentenced to three years in prison and five years of probation once he is released. His probation will include random alcohol and drug testing.
