COLUMBIA, SC – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning.
According to a report by The State, the man was attempting to cross within the 1600 block of Assembly Street when he was hit around 1 a.m.
Police say the man stepped off the curb outside of the designated crosswalk when he was hit by the southbound vehicle.
The unidentified victim suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
