NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Several students were hurt when a school bus plowed into a building near Montague Ave and Luella Ave Tuesday, according to WCBD.
The female bus driver turned onto E Montague when she struck the concrete median and lost control of the vehicle. The bus then strayed off the road, collided with a student on the sidewalk, and crashed into Neighbors Store.
Four elementary students on board the bus were hurt in the collision. Another student was hurt by debris resulting from the crash.
Rescue crews transported the six students and the driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities cited the driver for careless operation.
