CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC – A child is dead after an alleged impaired driver fatally struck another vehicle at SC 162 and SC 164 Thursday.
According to WCSC, the 46-year-old driver of a Honda sedan strayed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Chevrolet sedan head-on at around 12:30 a.m.
First responders transported the driver of the Honda and all five occupants of the Chevy to an area hospital. One of the four children who occupied the Chevy died at the hospital.
Authorities will charge the Honda driver with felony DUI once he is released from the hospital.
