GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC – According to WBTW, one person died following a two-car wreck on Hwy 17 near Hobcaw Rd on Saturday.
The driver of a 2011 Santa Fe was heading north on Hwy 17 when they hit a person driving a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu around 12:53 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the Malibu driver dead at the scene. They transported the driver of the Hyundai and a passenger from the Malibu to area hospitals.
Officials have not released the victims’ names.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
