NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC – According to CBS 17, officials have released additional information on a fatal crash that claimed a woman’s life on SC 31 near Robert Edge Pkwy on July 1.
Shanika T. Jones, 27, was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport south in the northbound lanes of SC 31 when she collided with a Subaru Outback at around 5 a.m.
First responders pronounced a passenger in the Sante Fe Sport, Kamiyah Belvin, 23, dead at the scene of the accident. They transported four people to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities arrested Jones for reckless homicide in connection with the incident.
