NEWBERRY COUNTY, SC – According to WIS, a driver died after he slammed head-on into a semi-truck on SC 39 Friday.
Robert Butler, 68, was driving a Ford pickup truck north on SC 39 when he strayed into oncoming traffic and collided with a southbound semi-truck around 10:40 p.m.
Rescue crews transported both drivers to Newberry Hospital, where Butler died.
The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
