NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – An underaged, unlicensed driver evading the police fatally crashed into another vehicle at Dorchester Rd and Michaux Pkwy Friday.
According to Live 5 News, the police chase began when an officer saw the driver of a Buick sedan running a red light at Dorchester Rd and Olivia Dr. The officer turned on his blue lights and the driver attempted to flee.
The Buick driver slammed into a Lexus at Dorchester Rd and Michaux Pkwy about a minute after the pursuit began at around 1:29 a.m. The collision killed the driver and passenger in the Lexus.
Rescue crews transported the Buick driver to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved in the wreck.
