NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Police have charged a man in connection with a fatal train accident on January 16 at 1901 Remount Rd.
According to ABC News 4, Milton Carson, 59, was driving west on Remount Rd when he drove around lowered crossing arms at a set of train tracks. Carson’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an Amtrak train.
First responders pronounced Carson’s passenger, Clinton Proctor, 57, dead at the scene of the accident. Firefighters extricated Carson from the vehicle and transported him to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have charged Carson with DUI resulting in death. He is being held without bond.
